Since we’re now living in a “post-racial” society, I thought this quote
was appropriate:
No greater injury can be done to any youth than to let him feel that because he belongs to this or that race he will be advanced in life regardless of his own merits or efforts.
Name the individual.
It’s Booker T. Washington. His is a great story of triumphing over
adversity and self-reliance that makes America great. Recently I read a
fantastic article comparing him to our new president. I highly
recommend it.
